The History Of Rama Citra Indo Furninture

The journey of CV. Rama Citra Indo Furniture is a testament to resilience, vision, and the timeless beauty of Indonesian craftsmanship. Founded in 2002 in the world-famous furniture hub of Jepara, Central Java, the company started from very humble beginnings and has grown into a respected name in the global furniture industry.

It all began in Robayan Village, Kalinyamatan, in a small workshop beside the house of the founder and commissioner, Mr. Naf’an Zen. At the time, there were no large machines, no grand showrooms—just a few passionate craftsmen, simple tools, and a shared commitment to excellence. The early days were filled with challenges—managing resources, building a team, and finding buyers—but the vision was always clear: to create furniture that reflected the soul of Jepara’s renowned woodcarving tradition.

That same year, an extraordinary opportunity presented itself. A client from Germany placed an order, becoming CV. Rama Citra’s first international customer. This marked a significant turning point. The confidence gained from this partnership encouraged the team to aim higher and solidified the company’s goal to serve customers not only in Indonesia but around the world.

As production needs grew, the small workshop could no longer support the increasing demand. The company then moved to a rented space at the abandoned APRIKA (Akademi Perikanan Jepara) campus. Although the facilities were far from ideal, the location offered more room to grow. From the back area of the unused hall, the team continued their work—refining techniques, improving quality control, and innovating in design. It was a phase marked by determination and strategic planning.

After several years, CV. Rama Citra moved again—this time to Krasak Village, Pecangaan, situated next to Baroba Furniture, one of the local players in the same industry. The new location provided better access to transportation and raw materials. During this five-year period, the company began expanding its product range to include both classic and contemporary designs. The team grew, new artisans were trained, and the company’s name began to spread beyond Jepara’s borders.

But the dream of owning a permanent home remained. Finally, after years of operating in rented locations, CV. Rama Citra Indo Furniture acquired land and built its permanent headquarters in Ngabul Village, Tahunan, Jepara. This new facility allowed for full control over production, better organization, and long-term planning. Equipped with modern machinery and a dedicated showroom, the Ngabul site symbolized the maturity and long-term commitment of the company.

Today, CV. Rama Citra Indo Furniture proudly serves customers across Asia, Europe, and the Americas. With a focus on custom furniture, high-end woodcraft, and sustainable production, the company continues to blend traditional Jepara artistry with modern global standards.

More than two decades later, the same spirit that started beside Mr. Naf’an Zen’s home continues to guide the company forward. From a small village workshop to a global business, CV. Rama Citra’s story is not only about furniture—it is about passion, perseverance, and pride in Indonesia’s cultural heritage.
